Metanoia is written for readers who want to think carefully about the deepest questions human beings have asked, in company with others who take them seriously. This page sets out the ways to take part today.
Receive each issue§
The simplest way to take part is to receive Metanoia by email. A new issue arrives every two weeks, with its editorial and links to each piece. You can subscribe below, and unsubscribe from any email.
The Great Questions§
The Great Questions gather the answers of different traditions to questions such as what is ultimately real, what the self is, and whether love or knowledge is the higher way. Each day the homepage offers one question to reflect on. The questions are not settled by any issue, and they are meant to be lived with as well as read.
Reading together§
The reading lists in the Library are paths through a subject, from a first orientation to the classic texts, with a note on why each step belongs where it does. They are written to be followed alone or with others, in a reading group or a class.
Gatherings and lectures§
Gatherings, lectures and readings will be listed on the Events page as they are arranged, and announced first in the newsletter.
Corrections and questions§
Readers who find an error, or who want to ask about a source, can write to the editors through the Contact page. Corrections are one of the most valuable contributions a reader can make.
Community principles§
Curiosity, courtesy and care for the truth. We ask readers who take part in Metanoia’s conversations to describe other people’s traditions as their members would recognize them, to distinguish what they know from what they believe, and to disagree without contempt. Disagreement is welcome; contempt is not.
